I would wear this out on a lunch date. It’s cute, simple, & classic. I love the ruffle on the skirt & the delicate little flowers on the cardigan. I added the red shoes & yellow bag for a POP of color! So cute! Accessories can make the outfit.

I started choosing the pieces of my outfit after seeing the must have trench coat. The shoes were next - I couldn’t resist the stacked heels. With the sunglasses and bag, I really had a complete outfit, but once I saw the vest, I knew I had to continue. The low neckline of the sweater demanded a knockout scarf and the wrap around skirt finished the look. I could wear this outfit anywhere and look perfectly dressed.

This outfit is and homage to Ocean Sea by Alessandro Baricco and the end of The last Unicorn, when the Unicorn gather from the sea and charge the Red Bull
The boots are the center piece, they made me think of the Unicorn and that last scene and everytime I think of the Sea that book is summoned.

I like that the boots, earrings and tights make it a little funky, but it’s still a feminine look. I also really like shirts that are a little see-through, but it’s still almost a Victorian, covered-up look. I’d wear it on a date or to a Valentine’s Day party.

I picked out the ‘French Silk Chocolate Dress’ first and then built the outfit from there. I love the frilly collar and silky fabric. I picked accessories which were a little more adventurous, like the sequin shoes and the over sized vermilion clutch to add some fun flare!

As the eternal single spinster, I’ll be spending Valentine’s Day with my cats and a bottle of Sauv Blanc. Okay, I don’t actually have any cats (yet), so I’ll probably go out with some single girlfriends. As such, my Valentine’s dream outfit has me hitting the town in The Modcloth Goji Dress, Moulin Rouge Tights, Red Velvet Heels and the Speckled Thrush Earrings.

The last thing a gal flying solo on Valentine’s Day wants is to appear easy or desperate, so I think this dress gives the perfect appeal of vintage class. That, paired with the lacey Moulin Rouge tights and Red Velvet Heels, will hopefully ensure that this is the last Valentine’s Day I spend alone. And if not, I’m sure there are some great cats out there that’ll love me in this sexy, vintage look.

As a single gal in Australia I think cocktails on a summers evening with close friends would be my ideal Valentines Day. And you never know who I might meet while I’m out! I really like tailored items that show off my waist which is why I have picked these pants and vest. I felt that it would have looked too formal if I teamed it with a shirt, so I’ve opted for a fun formal-esque tee. Also linking the purple vest to my shoes and handbag(I loove this bag), and breaking up the darker tones with the silver belt and other fun silver accessories. I do love me some bling.

I love the cardigan because it’s so simple yet pretty and can be paired with anything!
The confectionary ice cream necklace and the love letter earrings are just perfect for valentines day. Glamourous and sweet.
The raspberry skirt is flirty and fun, and the sneakers just scream “i’m fashionable but am ready for adventure at any time!” And I love that the nude colored tights have hearts that you can only see up close ;).

i would wear this any where! amazing, this store!!!

i love “the new black skinnies” because, well skinnies are awesome! and i love the “Electric peacock tee” because it catches attention and the colors are an amazing mix. the “My land your land tote” is just amazing and i love the colors and the design is so original!! i love trees, dunno why..GO GREEN! so i love the “twisting tree necklace” and I’m not that big on jewelry but this i could definitely see me wearing!! the colors on the “block party scarf” are sweet and i love scarfs and i would totally wear this for warmth or for sure decoration!!! and last.. “the daily crossword glasses”…SO AMAZING!! I’m so one for wearing random glasses and well these aren’t random there but no one has them so i love it and they’re so like vintage and just extremely amazing!!

This year is my first Valentine’s Day after getting married. I want to spend it in something that makes me feel special. I love the dress (it’s gorgeous), and I want to set myself up for a moment of surprise from my husband.

Everything about this outfit screams elegance to me, and I want to be elegant for our first V-Day together as husband and wife. We’re kind of low on a budget right now, so we’re not going anywhere extremely fancy. The coat can be paired with any of my many other dresses and skirts and work perfectly, just flirty enough for the groom.

I love the lace gloves and the mary janes combo with the dress because it’s reminiscent of another era. The bag is a good neutral to the flare of colors I’ve added, and the tights just say brilliant.

To me, this outfit says, “I’m either going to stride past you haughtily or push you against a wall and make out with you.” Perfect. It is also suitable for less agressive displays of fabulousness; ie, coyly lifting your heart-shaped sunglasses with an enigmatic smile. The dress is the real belle of the ball in my ensemble. Ever since I saw the dress on modcloth.com, I imagined wearing it on a clear, brisk day walking hand in hand with someone I really really liked :). I think it’s feminine but very playful. The coat is both practical and whimsical, with its large buttons and cute collar - it just reminded me of a big warm hug. I love the shoes with this dress in particular because it stands out against all that blue on the dress, but there’s a splash of navy blue in the design of the shoe to really tie it all back in with the rest of the outfit. Whenever I wear navy blue, I feel compelled to complement it with red, which would explain my choices for earrings and the clutch. Red is my favorite color and I very rarely leave home without it and as an added bonus, it’s the color of love so why wouldn’t an ideal Valentine’s Day outfit have at least a splash of red in it? Finally, the locket is my romantic cherry on top - what a sweet surprise for your hunny to find that you keep his picture close to your heart at all times.

To get where I’d like to be on Valentine’s Day, a cross-country plane trip would be necessary. This outfit is comfortable and functional - must-have requirements when your day will be spent going through security and sitting in coach - without giving up style.

i LOVE this outfit i think the boots have such moxie, and their fringed hearts have such a retro valentine vibe. the shorts or the “pin-up girl” shorts, are just SO sexy and sweet at the same time, that it really cathes the valentines day feel. it is afterall, a sweet yet sexy holiday. the knee highs add a classy color that draws the eyes upward. and that gorgeous cardigen really pulls the outfit together. it’s such a classic, coy, elegant look fit for barbie herself (or perhaps betty page?). this outfit tickles me pink to look at, and i hope i have the pleasure of wearing it some day.

Oh, gosh, I realize I posted the link without the explanation. Well, here goes, haha…
This outfit is the perfect blend of the vintage and the romantic. The dress itself is cut in a flattering ’40s shape, cinched at the waist, accented with feminine ruffles, and colored in a rich burgundy. All in all, perfect for Valentine’s Day.
Of course, it’s February, and it’s going to be cold out. Instead of accessorizing your fab outfit with goosebumps, the Moulin Rouge tights and Astor Trench will probably be a chicer, warmer option. Also, retro sunglasses, in case your date is outside in the daytime!
The necklace is a simple silver pocketwatch, enough to add a little sparkle to the outfit without being overpowering. Since the dress is SO strong, it’s imperitive to keep the accessories light. Therefore, the only jewelry would be the aforementioned necklace and brown feathered earrings.
While the jewelry is subtle, the shoes make a statement all their own. With their rich plum color, they complement the burgundy perfectly without ever being boring. Plus, heels make your legs look fab.

I just moved to California from New England and am nostalgic for winter days where I could bundle up in layers of sweaters and scarves. This dress is appropriate for the climate here, but still has that cozy feeling of snuggling in wool and home. I am a bit of a klutz, therefore comfy flats are necessary. The Plum Crazy flats are in soft purple and grey. They have a feminine fringed toe and a bow. The grey is picked up in the Camelot ring. The thick wooden ring has both a silver side and a gold side, sure to go with anything and to add a whimsical touch to any outfit. Be a damsel in this-dress or a knight in shining accessories, but this castle is sure to bring back the days of romance and chivalry on any occasion with any outfit. The grey carries through to the top. A classic puffy tee may be a fashion don’t, but this printed tee appeals to my ironic side. Looks great tucked into a high-waisted skirt, and is neutral enough to go with bold colors. Plays off grey in camelot ring. Detailing goes with white from sweetheart rose earrings. The sweetheart rose earrings in white pop, evocative of purity and perfection, and play up nicely the 2D white detail on the puffy tee. The romanticized rose goes nicely with the castle on the camelot ring, and with the bold color of the frozen raspberries skirt. The high-waisted frozen raspberries skirt is feminine and delicate in shape, but the color is bold and passionate. Perfect for any date night, and I certainly wish I could wear it all the time. Hey!
This would be my valentines wish list!
I chose just a basic black and white dress so i could mix color with it easily. I chose red to celebrate the holiday and of course heart patterned hose to put more emphasis as well. I really wanted a heel with the dress, but i chose a flat to accentuate the length of the legs since this dress cuts above the knee. I would definitely wear this to a special dinner with a date or even a friend! Or maybe just hanging out at the local Starbucks and chatting with a friend. I love it and i hope you do too!

I started out with the A Friend in Tweed Skirt , because it’s just adorable( also I’ll need a friend on V-Day because there’s a good chance I’ll be alone ; -), and it took me forever to find a top that work perfectly with it, I finally settled with the Wimbledon Sweater Vest and then added the tights. For the shoes I almost picked the Dorian Grey Wedges, but I thought the they might kind of blend in with the tights, and that the outfit needed more of a statement I guess, so I went with the Militia Booties which I love! Mo had waited anxiously for this holiday of romance, hearts, and love. This would be her first time celebrating Valentines Day with anyone, and the day would be perfect. Her boyfriend, after much pestering, cajoling, and bribery of kisses, had revealed the night’s plans. The night would begin with authentic Chinese cuisine, filled with random silly moments and pictures, followed by local music at their favorite bar. She looked down at her mauve mini skirt and smiled. The dim, warm lights of the bar would enhance the color wonderfully. The black lace tights would keep her legs warm, while showing the perfect amount of skin. She glanced back at her reflection in the mirror. The golden eyes of the snow leopard on her shirt captured her attention. The soft cotton felt wonderful to fingertips and skin. As an added bonus, it looked amazing layered under the skirt, black patent bow belt, and black cardi. Mo firmly secured her slouchy gray beret on her head. Her hair was astonishingly cooperative , her make-up was smoky and sexy, and her outfit was fantastic and almost complete. The last ingredient, her sleek new black boots, waited by the door next to her gray quilted kiss-lock bag, black military-inspired coat, and her boyfriends Valentines Day present. The parcel, wrapped in shiny silver paper, contained a dark blue beanie and scarf that had taken her, a novice knitter, three months to make. She gave her reflection a finally look. Her face was happy, excited, and a bit nervous, but tonight would be fantastic.

My birthday is two days before Valentine’s day, which, for a girl, is something like being born within days of Christmas. It also tends to warp gift perceptions, causing well-meaning friends and (ex)boyfriends to assume I want frilly gifts with lots of little hearts. I can’t honestly say that I’ve ever been a huge fan of pink ruffles, but I adore red. The bag, boots and scarf I chose for my V-Day ensemble bring the most refreshing pop of color to a mostly grey Pittsburgh winter, and those tights may well be the most unexpectedly gorgeous accessory I’ve ever seen. Combined with an understated mini dress, layered necklace, and a rich coffee-hued coat (hey, it’s cold out there!) those chic accessories will take me from birthday drinks and dinner with my mom to a romantic evening with my boyfriend without batting an eye.

Hi! I love fashion and creating different outfits. When I saw this oportunity, I just couldn’t resist! I picked four different items for my V-day dream outfit. I picked a Bulova Women’s Diamond Case Watch because a girl needs a good bracelet to go with almost any outfit! I love diamonds and shiny, expensive things and this bracelet just screamed my name! I also picked a Dolce and Gabbana Women’s Casual Handbag because I liked the way that the bag complemented the colors in the dress that I picked. I’m a huge fan of Dolce and Gabbana so this was my obvious choice. The dress I picked, a beautifully designed Nanette Leopore Olive Wild Thing Dress, has colors that compliment each other and the Dolce and Gabban Purse perfectly! For the very last component of my Dream outfit I picked a Chinese Laundry Wesely Heeled Sandal. The silver sandal compliments the dress and the purse to create a masterpiece of an outfit!

The Forget-Me-Not Skirt is the epitome of spring lightness, and I feel like when I’d wear it I’d float away into the clouds. Being a baby of the eighties (and huge Saved by the Bell Fan!!!), I knew I wanted to match a bright with a bright. So I picked the Kelly Kapowski Tee, and hope that my own Zack Morris will find me some day. The Betsey Johnson Love at First Tights were a must because I love the idea of people going, “Wait is she wearing tights? No she’s not. Wait, yes she is…Or is she?” It’s subtle and an attention-getter, all in one. The Pocket Watch Necklace will allow me to get in more of my British Aristocrat schtick into everyday conversation. The Clutch for Jane will make me feel like a 1940s dame on the make. And since spring is not quite here yet, I’d want to wrap myself up in a coat that makes you feel both girly and like a rock star… dare I say, Jem-like. So my final pick was the Dark Side of the Bloom Coat. So wether I find my own Zack Morris or Rio by this V-Day or not, it won’t matter. When you look this good you don’t need a man!

I will be celebrating Single Awareness Day at a local coffee shop with my nose buried in a great book. It’s bound to be chilly, so I’ve bundled up with the Amber Road Coat, White Poise Gloves, and Polka Dot Party Tights. Behold: The Peacock! (Or: It’s All About the Color Baby!)

The inspiration for my outfit is the not-so-humble Peacock, who uses bright colors and extravagant plumage to attract the opposite sex for some cuddle time. Thus we will also use bright colors, a bit of glammy golden sparkle, and most importantly our great looks and sparkling charm to win the object of our affections, whoever they may be. In ode to our inspiration, we will also be wearing peacock earrings, and peacock feather tights in bright blue! We’ll leave the real feathers to the birds- they need them more!

Topping our shorts-over-bright tights ensemble is a red and white top (the colors of love), a bright red scarf, an apple-red clutch, a golden sparkly beret and some golden flats to balance the look. For warmth, a purple cropped sleeve jacket, long lime green gloves, and leg warmers (scrunched low enough not to cover the feathers on the tights). Don’t forget your parasol- no proper lady leaves the house without one!

The Space Invaders slap bracelet is for your date, to let him know that you were thinking of him although- let’s face it- this day is about YOU!

And finally, our 2 secret charms- a golden foal pin (nearly a unicorn!), and a Camelot castle ring- because isn’t Valentine’s day about finding your knight in shining armour?

Ok, so I tried to keep a few things in mind when picking out my outfit. First and foremost- it is still FREEZING where I am. Below freezing, actually, as the temperature rarely rises into the 30’s or higher. Next, this is my first V- Day with a Valentine!! And sadly, my last for a couple of years since he will be deployed sometime before January of next year. Also, I love looking pretty, but not when I have to sacrifice comfort, and wearing a dress right now would bring too many unwanted cool breezes.
1. All that in mind, I decided to go with black skinny jeans. They cover all of my legs and are little dressier than blue jeans.
2. The top from Something Sweet Day 4 added a bright pop of red that I just could resist, and makes the entire ensemble a little more elegant.
3. Like I said, it’s still below freezing here, so I added the Plaid Tidings Jacket for those walks in the park under the stars.
4. As with any other girl, I simply couldn’t choose what pair of shoes I wanted! The Red Ember Pumps are simply sexy, but the For Your Love Booties are too adorable to resist, and seem rather comfy. Either shoe, however, would match the feel of the outfit.
5. I chose the Bestest Buds earrings because they’re small, but catchy enough to draw attention. With one movement of my head, you’d see them then you wouldn’t. What a way to draw more attention.
6. Old Time Pocket Watch Necklace- I chose this, not only because the splash of red ties into the rest of the outfit, while the gold and yellow make for an attractive piece, but also because Stephen and I have a tendency to make plans to see a movie and wind up getting there 10 minutes into the movie. Tell me he wouldn’t use “Oh I’m just checking the time” as an excuse to get closer, and I’d say you were wrong.
7. Lastly, the Firehouse Clutch….oh boy…haha I’m terribly forgetful sometimes, and- whether I’m visiting him, or he’s visiting me- I HAVE to have an ID on me at all times. Too many an ID have found their demise in my back pocket, and I’ve lost IDs by leaving them somewhere. I keep them in the clutch and I’m good to go, because….who could miss that bright spot of fire engine red???

My valentine’s day will be enjoying a fun girls’-night movie marathon with my friends!
I really like this outfit because it’s casual and versatile. The grey t-shirt is a nice neutral color along with the black pants. And I love the blue scarf. Description: Unlike many other mostly single ladies out there, I get really hyper excited about Valentine’s Day. Possibly because it features my favorite colors - pink, red and purple, so predominantly. And a few days after the big V day, a girl can get heart shaped plastic champagne flutes for 99 cents. Whee! This outfit is inspired by the whole idea that you want to dress up for Valentine’s Day, without walking around in a big red sweater with kissing puppies on it. Or maybe you do!

In any case, this outfit is filled with things that make me happy and remind me of love in all kinds of different forms. The accessories are girly and romantic (bows, hearts, and love earrings) but manageable due to their scale. The standard skinny jean and sweater combo gets a kick from subtle details like the hearts on the sunglasses and booties, and not so subtle details like a gold sequin beret and short red lace gloves! The goal is to be girlish and yay it’s V-day! - without being saccharine. And the anchor pieces, the gray sweater, the oversized bag, and the “I’m just wearing jeans, people!) make it something (I think!) totally wearable. Now I am off to find some more conversation hearts and eat them curled up in my new multi-heart polar fleece blanket. Happy Valentine’s Day!

I absolutely LOVE this out fit! Grey and purple are so cute together and i adore the intricate detailing on the top of the dress! The dress is a mod Victorian style and is perfect for the sweetness that a Valentines outfit needs. And the lovely little flats and tights are just sheer bliss for me! I am very excited about this because they dress that is presented on the modcloth site for the contest is the dress that I sooo want. Every piece can go from day to not for me. I live in California and am planning a big night out for V-Day! PERFECT outfit for the perfect southern luncheon! Today in New Orleans it was around 75degrees so I picked a flowy, sheer, floral shirt matched with the cutest light blue pleated skirt. I have fallen in love with the Toast the Night dress in champagne - it is perfect for my plans for V-Day, dinner and a champagne toast at the Storie Street Grille in Blowing Rock, NC. The Dark Side of the Bloom coat is a perfect (and needed) companion; it will keep me warm and stylish on this night that promises to be oh-so-hot. When I want to feel ultra feminine and pretty I love to put on a full gathered skirt like the “Plaid Poise Dress”. Since it’s still February, and Kansas is known for their bone chilling winters, I would layer the “Mallory Keaton Sweater in Crimson” underneath the “Plaid Poise Dress for added warmth and style. Red, black and white are such a striking color combination that is perfect for Valentine’s Day. To cover my legs I would wear a pair of silky nude stockings to keep me warm and classic. To accentuate and cinch in my waist I’d wear the white “Wild and Woven Belt”. Keeping with the ultra feminine ’50s vibe I would wear the “First Lady Peep Toe” heels that are white with red details. Keeping warm is a constant thought on a February day in Kansas, so the “Parisian Sophisticate Jacket” would do nicely to keep me cozy. This jacket would also offset the plaid of the “Plaid Poise Dress” with it’s subtle white polka dots on black; keeping the outfit young and unique. The “Quilted Kisslock Bag” would do well to keep my emergency makeup kit and other essentials for the date and also match my outfit splendidly. Just to make sure I’m not late for my date I would be wearing the “Betsey Johnson Bow Timepiece”.

All in all my outfit would keep me comfortable and confident through out my date so that I can focus all of my attention on the person I’m with and not fussing with the clothes and accessories I’m wearing!

Why? Well, I love love the GOJI DRESS and I know I could rock it really well with the PENNY BROGUES and grey tights. Because I love peacock tights, I chose the GREY PEACOCK TIGHTS, but if my skinny little gams were to get chilly I could pull on the ALEXANDRA LEG WARMERS. They happen to match the DOUBLE LP EARRINGS, which I chose out of my love for music, and the SOMETHING SWEET PARASOL which I picked just for foppery. (If I can’t go all out for V-Day, when can I?)
The POCKET WATCH NECKLACE would match the dress, and the BRONZE AGE BANGLE would match both. The BIRDS OF A FEATHER FASCINATOR would be perfect with my short hair (it can stand in place of a chignon), but out in the Pittsburgh weather I could pull on a BUTTONED UP BERET in a shade to complement the dress. Throw on a COZY CARDIGAN (which is one of my Mod Cloth Loves and will go nicely with the fascinator), a HIT PARADE JACKET to keep out the cold, and LOOK SMART GLASSES ’cause my eyesight isn’t so good, and I’m rocking a fabulous look.
Oh, but wait, I didn’t stop there! I come equipped with a BIKES AND BREWS BOTTLE OPENER for my sweetheart, who loves both bikes and brews, as well as a plush KISSING DISEASE to both subtly tease him -and- sweetly commemorate the Valentine’s Day two years ago when we weren’t dating yet and he nevertheless gave me mono ! (Oops … well, it was worth it.)
Not to mention that I would also bring along a HOLGA STARTER KIT to esoterically and artistically capture our incredibly fashionable hijinks, while keeping with the color scheme of the day. I seem to have nearly everything under control!

What do you say, Mod Cloth and Gala Darling? I had a load of fun assembling this list, and I bet if I had gobs of cash this getup would look astonishing on my hip, flippant little frame.

I chose this ensemble because it’s simple yet different. (like me!) Peacock feathers to me are the most beautiful things in the world so, I chose the hair clip. I thought it would look extra bright in contrast with my dark black hair. To make the gold in the clip pop I chose accesories in shades of gold. I didn’t pick a necklace because I thought the neckline does enough for itself. The leggings and the shoes I chose because lace is delicate in a sexy way, and if I were to go on a date that’s the edge I’d love to have; the shoes on the other hand show the more natural yet confident side of me. This outfit represents me in a fashionable way.
Even though I won’t be on a date with a guy this year, going out on the town with my mom in this would make me feel so good about myself.

Valentine’s day has to be my most favorite time of the year, and this would be the best gift anyone could ever receive. Please choose me!

I’m not the biggest fan of Vday, mostly because I never seem to have a date so I kept the romanticism limited. The red bag, rose earrings and the whimsical cameo ring are all that’s needed. I’d wear the jacket open to show off the femininity of the cardigan layered over the antique top. I love how the jacket subtly hints at my disapproval. I’m spending the afternoon of Vday in my school’s library, so I threw in the glasses to perhaps hook a bookworm for the night. Otherwise, I’ll be spending it out with the girls watching chickflicks at the movies and drinking wine.

I chose these items because I’ve always loved taking something classically feminine [like that super cute Grey Gardens Dress] with something a tad more rocked out [like the awesome Risque Boots]. I thought that the cut of the dress was a little stream-lined for my body, so I added the vest so it could either look nicely layered or I could button up the vest to add a little bit of shape. I thought the earrings went along with the vintage pink colors in the dress, and the necklace just adds an extra kick of edgy.

This Valentines Day my boyfriend decided that it would be a great idea to throw a party with all his guy friends and myself. I of course plan on looking beyond cute to make him regret that decision. I start with the Grey Little Miss Dress, it hugs the curves in all the right ways! The Cider House Belt ads a splash of red (after all, it is Valentines Day) and will accentuate my waist. The First Lady Peep Toes will make it easier for me to steal a kiss, being only 5 feet tall it’s hard to do in my flat feet! I’d finish off the look with the Romantic Lace Gloves which will accentuate my femininity in a room full of mid-twenties beer swilling young men.

I chose an outfit for a night out partying, with the super cute new obsession skirt, topped off with the puffy tee, the moulin rouge tights and the city lights ballet flats add a bit of flash to the outfit and the headliner’s scarf, scalene earrings and train hopping bag bring it all together, as it is still winter I picked the what a wonderful coat and all buttoned up knit beret (in teal) to complete the outfit. Capes are very now, and the length on this one makes it a dream over the fullness of the skirt. Taken off, it’s clear the skirt is a jumper, with the purple of the vest (not worn with the silver belt) pulling out the lilac of the gorgeous psychedelic tights. The Thin Lizzy belt in teal adds a tiny pop of complementary color, while the brogues and the necklace tie the outfit together from head to toe. The Story:
A long illness (from which I’ve finally recovered) meant I had to drop out of school, so now I’m attempting to redo the courses on my own in half the time (I don’t want to be stuck at home studying for another two years!) while at the same time trying to fit in making a showreel with which to apply to film school (chasing my dreams ;). Unfortunately, this lifestyle means my social life has gone right down the pipes and I’m probably fated to spend valentines day working alone in my favourite coffee house, peaking up every now and then to see if I can catch the eye of some charming so-and-so……. But maybe if I had this gorgeous and somewhat unconventional outfit to wear, some other lonely soul might be inspired to ask me to be their impromptu valentine!

I started the outfit with the shoes and built from there. I feel in live woth the white shoes with their black lacey detailing. The dress seemed perfect with those shoes. I love its delicate detail. I thought the gloves, locket, and cape added to the antiquated charm of dress. The rose earrings (which I want in white) along with the gloves, add to the delicate nature of the outfit overall. In order to add a splash of color to the outfit, I decided to add the peacock feather hair clip and the ring. Even though I won’t be able to celebrate Valentine’s Day with my love, because he is overseas with the army, I would love to wear this for him when we can be together to celebrate.

On Valentine’s day I will be working. So Sunday morning I’m going to brunch with my best guy friend at our favorite vegan restaurant (they have killer mimosas and sweet potato fries!) This outfit will be the perfect valentine’s brunch get up- romatic yet funky. I love the color pallet (creams, browns, blues and reds), not nauseatingly valentinesy. This outfit has a natural, more bohemian feel to it. It was inspired by elephants, which are my favorite animals: they’re maternal, ancient and mythical. I heart also goes out to them, because they are killed merely for their tusks. Some may not pair the skirt and the cardigan together, as they are both bold, but I think that their similar print and like colors (they both have black and fuschia) play off each other very nicely, especially against the white elephant top. I chose the gray bag because the skirt and cardigan were loud enough, and the elegance of the bag keeps the look from going too thematic. The gray also plays up the color of the elephant. The headband and the shoes were final and perfect finishing touches to this cool bohemian look.
I would would this outfit just as the warmth of spring blends with the heat of summer, so that the sunshine and nature could maximize my inner nature child, yet it’s still cool enough for me to wear the cardigan.

When I was in middle school, we had the most horrendous, unflattering uniforms. But when I saw the adorable little skirt, I thought to myself, “We should have been allowed to wear skirts like these!” And thus an outfit was born.

I chose A FRIEND IN TWEED SKIRT, VICTORIAN BOHO SHIRT, and MOULIN ROUGE TIGHTS as the basis of my outfit, like the canvas. I loved them all; they are perfect for each other and for millions of other outfits. But all together; they were a little drab, so I found the SHEER ROMANCE BLOUSE, which was the perfect color accent, and then I chose the MADAME BOVARY RING, CENTERPIECE EARRINGS, and BLUE TOPAZ FLATS as complementary pieces to the sheer blouse. And of course, for those really chilly February nights, you need a nice coat. I decided to go classic; it would tie everything together with THE CLASSIC PARTY COAT. The color pallet is pastelly, but not Easter Egg, and I think the outfit balances color and neutrals very well. A bit victorian-vintage, a bit modern, all amazing!

I started with the A Rose Less Traveled Blouse - the red is very valentine’s day and the top is romantic and flowy without being cheesy. I paired it with a skinny jean to contrast with the volume of the top. The wild and lovely leather purse is a gorgeous neutral, and “wild and lovely” is exactly how people should feel on valentine’s day, whether they are attached or not. I’m absolutely in love with the sparrow earrings. Bird feathers are a big trend right now, these earrings perfectly capture the spirit of this trend without becoming campy or overdone. The oxford’s are a fantastic, feminine take on a classic shoe. Perfect, funky companions for a night out with the girls!

My peacock themed ensemble is my cheeky way of getting some attention on
Vday. I chose the transatlantic jumper as my simple, sassy basic to build upon because it reminds me so much of “Spring Awakening” and grey goes with everything. The Shy Cardigan and the Moulin Rouge Tights are a must due to chilly weather. And now for the fun of accessorizing the basic look. I’ve been drooling over the Wicked Heels for awhile now and I love the idea of the metallic green as the attention drawer when I end up in a room full of girls wearing pink and red. But I won’t keep all of the color for my feet. My red curly hair is my favorite feature so I’ll accent it with the Birds of a Feather Clip. Then to complete the plumage I’ll wear the Peacock Medal Earrings and the Wind Beneath My Wings Necklace. The Peacock Plumage undies are of course just for me. This look will get me to work and to dinner and drinks with the girls. And if the feathers do there job, some complimentary looks from fellow singles. Happy Lupercalia!

My girlfriend doesn’t usually like to wear dresses because they don’t fit her style, but I thought I’d try my luck with this cuz my roommate mentioned it. The whole thing is black/white/silver since that’s her fav color scheme. She also loves sea critters, so the necklace+cuff and cool-shaped seashell bag that matches the dress are pretty much perfect. She loves the military vintage thing, but I’d really like to see her in a dress (she only wears them to stuff like weddings), so I’m hoping this can be like middle ground for us. My outfit revolves around its center piece: the blouse named Chloris, the Greek nymph of spring, flowers, and new growth. Valentine’s Day may be during a winter month, but for me, all the love, stomach butterflies and attention that people share symbolize the beginning of Spring. I chose to continue with this palette of colors –indigo-magenta-ish– because it is fun, flirty, and passionate. The Frozen Raspberries skirt makes me think of red wine, the Train Hopping Bag speaks the language of white chocolate, and the Gray Swede Shoes will help me raise on my toes as I lean to kiss him at the end of the night. The Amber Red Coat will come in handy wherever the night takes us. And by complimenting the entire outfit with the touch of the Darydreaming Locket, the little Xena belt, and the Tail Feather Peacock tights with silver accents, I rest assured that I am as flirty as can be….and his kisses….will be mine

I built my outfit around the Mint Julep Dress (which is out of stock @ModCloth but in stock for the same price from the original designer site). I absolutely love the style and shade of the dress, and the adorable scallop-edge on both collar and the bottom hem. Dainty white gloves and tights keep the outfit light and very feminine, while the parasol complements the overall cuteness. Sparse gold and teal accessories accent the dress beautifully. The Dorian Grey Wedges and scarf add a bit of gray around the edges. For added sweetness, seeing as it is for V-Day, the Love earrings are a nice subtle touch for those who don’t need to scream “I’m prettied up because it’s a special day”. Every girl should look good even on the most mundane days, so rather than focusing on the traditional slew of red dresses, this flirty and light color combination will be romantic and stunning without being overpowering.

As a bonus, if you’re in a location where the weather can be unpredictable (like I am), match this outfit with cute white Cloud Hopping Boots and a warm white hat on days when your teal-tipped headband and pretty shoes don’t quite keep the rain out.

While this outfit was designed as my ideal V-Day wardrobe, it would be a great collection for any day when I feel the urge to be a little more girly. I don’t have many outfits that could be described as ’sweet’ or ‘dainty’, but hopefully this Valentine’s Day will change that.

I’ve been really loving brown lately, as boring as that may sound. My outfit is based on warm earthy colors, with a little bit of gold and green to mimic the change of seasons. The reds and oranges keep it eye-catching, and the cute little deer and mushroom earrings, and the mushroom necklace, are fun details. The icing on the cake (for me, anyways) is the Oh Van Gogh Scarf because I really love Van Gogh–especially his Sunflowers series!

This Valentine’s Day, I would like to continue my break out of my normal, humdrum, jeans-and-your-average-top fashion shell. I’m getting there slowly, but I still need some more inspiration. This outfit is just the ticket. I started by choosing the Dizzy Lizzy dress. I have had my eye on it since it was introduced during the holiday season. Its fascinating shape and interesting pattern make a perfect base for a “branching out” type of outfit. I also love its versatility. I paired it with the Scooter Rally jacket. I feel it will add to the overall silhouette of the outfit and will make the outfit a bit more fun and daring. I love how it is an edgier piece that still has a wonderful softness and femininity about it. Next, the Moulin Rouge tights. I love the unique pattern on these. They’re definitely a step up from your average fishnets. I knew I had to create an outfit in which I’d use the Grey Suede Shoes. I just adore these. They’re beautifully made and are classic and sexy in a simplistic way. Love them. I chose the Inferno Bag for a couple of reasons. Its smoldering color will be a perfect addition to the outfit; it will keep it from looking too neutral. It will be just the color pop the outfit craves. The size of the bag is also appealing to me because- let’s be honest- I carry a LOT of junk around. Next, I chose the Gold Standard Sunglasses for their pretty embellishments and large size. Last but not least, I chose the Wind Beaneath My Wings necklace. I love it for its daintiness and modesty. The small bit of color it adds will also be perfect with the outfit.

Valentine’s Day is about love.

I had a great time creating this outfit! I tried to make it the perfect combo of sweet and sexy and, I have to say, I think it looks pretty fierce. I’m happily single for the holiday, and I’d love to wear it out with my girls Saturday night.

Plus, it’s a little random, but I love the names/themes of the items I chose. They’re so appropriate for Valentine’s Day: “Inferno Bag,” “Moulin Rouge Tights,” “Snakebite Slingbacks,” and even “Shy Cardigan.” (I’ll let you relate those to love in your own philosophical ways…) Oh, my favorite is the “Like Magic Vest.” In my opinion, that’s the pure, simple, and perfect description of love. <3

For my daughter’s Valentine’s Day, I want to make sure she has fun. To my 16 year old girl, clothing means everything, so I’d like to make sure that she starts the day happy, with a smile on her face, and that means giving her an outfit she’ll love. My daughter’s favorite piece of clothing is a pair of jean overalls, however she recently tore them up the leg while camping. So I know she’ll love the jean jumper. Next a cute realistic peacock shirt is perfect for my daughter who loves photography. A high-heeled shoe to style up her outfit and a brown purse to simultaneously give a more casual impression. The Train Hopping Purse is what began this whole inspired tyraid I’m about to go off on. When i first saw it I thought there was a beautiful story in it, just judging from the name. And soon the perfect outfit came along to go with it.
I don’t know where i’d wear this outfit in real life but if my life were a movie (which i often accidently think it is as i’m constantly writing scripts and outfits and scors and picking music for certain parts of life etc etc), this would be the scene in my movie starring me and Mr. Prince Charming.

It’s Valentine’s Day and alone on a train into the big city our heroine comes into sight drinking a martini in the lounge car. She is looking her finest on this day in her Marachino Dress paired with a Morroccan Trench Coat and an quirky little umbrella with goldfish on it as the weather is miserable and grey for such a love-filled holiday. And soon that fateful moment when she meets that dark, mysterious stranger on a train. He says he likes her clock pin; it looks like something his grandfather had. They hit it off immediatly and have trouble tearing their eyes away from each other but they know they can’t, or shouldn’t, be together. Finally his stop comes. They stare at each other for a long moment not knowing quite how to say goodbye. They settle on a hand shake so as not to complicate things too much. They know they will most likely never see each other again. He turns and departs and our sad, little heroine watches him go. She gazes after him watching his back disappear into the crowd forever. Suddenly a look of determination comes acorss her face as she realizes what a terrible mistake she is making. She grabs her fabulously appropriate Train Hopping Bag filled with all her basic necessities and races off the train and down the platform, wide eyed searching for him. Finally she sees him. She runs up behin him, takes a deep breath and taps him on the shoulder. A smile his on his face as he turns. She tries to open her mouth to speak but before she can he has swept her into his arms in the most passionate embrance ever captured on film, dipping her low and holding her tight.
They live happily ever after yadda yadda yadda

And that’s the sweet little valentine’s day love story i made up my outfit for. It’s all about class and beauty and true love and all those happy, syncronistic-soul-mate feelings. I picture hes wearing a fedora and well tailored suit with a bright colourful tie and that ruggedly handsome look about him.

It’s a comfortable yet fine outfit. I think acessorizing is extremely important. It’s the small things that can make or break an, outfit, an essay, a relationship etc.
