WINNER of NIMLI Scarf Giveaway: Allyssa K.

Earth Month = me walking everywhere (unless its way uptown like rehearsal tonight at 121st st and broadway…a bit far for the old pedal pushers!) Plus im actually separating my recycling this month!
I have been using Eco Beauty products for years! Go Earth Month!
I’ve been walking everywhere, not only is it healthier for me but it also saves on commute/gas $! I also started carrying canvas totes to the grocery store, as well as looking for products that have less packing and use recycled materials for their packaging. You have to support business that are are making their companies green as well!
Giving out indigenous wildflower seeds…I give them out in promotionals currently to potential clients as a metaphor for creativity and loving the Earth.
For Earth Month I’ll continue to use my canvas grocery bags and carpool to campus, but I’ve also decided to create a mini recycling program in my office. Our building lacks recycling bins, etc., so I’ve been hanging bags on various doorknobs around our workroom for people to leave their cans and bottles in. Once they get filled up, I’ll take them home to put in my recycling bin that the city takes care of.
Happy Earth Month!
xo,
Sarah
I’m going to make sure I use my reusable shopping bags everytime I go shopping and stop buying bottles of water and start using a reusable glass container for my water.
I am planting a gardena nd some fruit trees this ear
I am trying to recycle more. We are using our clothes line instead of the dryer on nice days! I try not to use plastic bags when shopping, but if I do, I reuse them for other things until they fall apart :-).
I walk places and I always recycle things. The more the better.
I buy local organic produce! And, I’m a vegetarian!
For starters we recycle all plastics, alumium, paper (even shredded paper) and glass; we use my canvas shopping bags at every store I go to, and we are walking to the grocery store when we have small purchases. I have also begun using Eco friendly cleaning products in my home from Melaleuca and planted a garden of veggies for the first time!!
ive started grown my own veggies. Tomatoes,Peppers, and Carrots !
I have been reusing water bottles instead of buying a new each time, reusing shopping bags, and as well finding uses for empty cosmetic jars
Conserving water, recycling everything possible, not driving but using public transportation as much as possible, turned the heat off and started wearing sweaters and hoodies in the apt (seriously…but have to turn on at night cause it gets chilly and my canary gets cold ) using timers on lights, saving electricity by using those eco bulbs..anything I can afford to do I do it.
We use the canvas shopping bags when we shop (who cares what store is advertised on them!). We recycle all paper, plastic, aluminum, glass - we have so much to put out, we had to get 2 more recycle bins from the DPW! We are have just found a great line of green cleaning products that have enzymes and are switching to those. We keep off lights if not in use and use energy-saving bulbs where possible.
I am recycling more and creating kids crafts with regular household items - that way i don’t throw much away and my children have a blast!
I am recycle everything think that I can and I just changed all my light bulbs to energy saving ones. I also walk everywhere and if not I take public transportation.
I use canvas grocery bags all the time now whenever I go shopping - no more plastic! I’m good at recycling more now.. paper, plastic, glass, etc. Turning off the lights whenever I’m not in a room is a good habit I have. I also stopped buying plastic water bottles and I now use a stainless steel bottle.
I use reusable shopping bags and have given many to my friends that fold up into a pouch and will fit in your purse so you can have them with you when you need them.
I am planting a garden this year and composting all plant waste from my kitchen.
I recycle everything I can and shred waste paper to use as mulch in my garden.
I use canvas shopping bags for my groceries and all sorts of other shopping trips, we use metal water bottles, we have replaced most lightbulbs with CLFs, we recycle everything we can and shred our confidential papers and use as a fire-starter source on clean burning/air days, we participate in carbon offsets for our home and cars, I am participating as a “Green Guardian” at my company and supporting the whole organization’s move to environmental sustainability, and we donate to environmental causes. My friends say I “bleed green’!
I shop with reusable grocery bags. I love my EnviroSax; they roll up small and fit in my purse, so I am less likely to forget them.
I take water with me to work everyday in a CamelBak bottle so I can avoid bottled water.
My husband rides his bicycle to work every day now. We’re planting trees , composting from our kitchen and using reusable shopping bags. We’re also giving our consumer dollars to stores and companies selling organic products hoping that more stores will carry organic fair trade products.
I try to focus on the little things every single day - like always wash full loads of clothes in cold water, run very little water when brushing my teeth/washing my bod, reuse jars/bottles, etc. I researched and bought new haircare products that are sulfate/paraben/petroleum free, earth-friendly, and from a company that donates 10% of proceeds to animal conservation organizations. I am collecting my old makeup/haircare/skincare product jars and bottles to turn into Origins for their Return to Origins program.
I turn off all the lights when I’m not in the room, shut off the water while I brush my teeth, and recycle just about EVERYTHING!
And I shop at consignment stores, and of course, donate ALL of my old items!
I recycle everything, and walk as much as I can and use only eco friendly products.
I’m recycling, researching composters, and when I’m buying something new, I try to think about the impact on the earth (which has less packaging? does one have recycled content?).
We are recycling, collecting plastic bags for a my daughters bag drive, and making our own compost.
I’m carrying my reusable canvas bags everywhere and planting a bunch of trees/shrubs on our propery this spring. Also I donate all kid clothes/toys/gear to goodwill or consignment and shop consignment whenever available.
I am planting some shade trees this year to reduce the cooling bill this summer.
I am recycling my water bottles and the tab tops from all beverage cans for Ronald McDonald House of Maine. I carpool to work to cut down on gas and the use of my vehicle.
Turning off lights and unplugging unused electronics!
I’m lucky to be able to live in an area that I don’t need a car — so I’ve given up my car and opted for public transportation or walking to get to my destinations. I’ve also purchased small recycling bins for my apartment and take advantage of the garbage disposal to help cut down on the amount of trash I throw out.
I started composting!
As always, I’m reducing and recycling. Cutting down on car trips. Donating old clothes, and trying to find new clothes made from renewable resources.
Best of all, I’ll be taking Origins up on its recycling program, and delivering a few plastic jars from my used-up-very-quickly Ginger Rush body cream. My husband loves that stuff.
I recycle all newspapers and other recyclabes. I also purchase all recyclabe paper products and use my own cloth bag and not the supermarket plastic bags. All the bulbs the the energy efficiant ones that are used at home
I recycle everything in house. Whether it’s water bottles, dog food cans, every single form of paper. I even tear the plastic windows off the envelopes so I can recycle the paper part of the envelopes.
We are using recycled and found objects in our crafting this month. I spend way too much time and money at the craft store, when, really, there is so much we already have that can make beautiful art. I’m trying to live “reduce, reuse, recycle.”
Making the kids lunches utilizes several plastic bags just to keep everything separate. In our family effort to go green I bought lunch containers that keep the food fresh and cold at the same time. My kids just told me that they are the only ones “green” among their friends.
I use my own drinking glass, ceramic mug/bowl, and silverware at work - instead of the disposable Styrofoam or paper options that are company-provided.
This year for Earth Month I am working at a new job, and I am implementing recycling. I have put recycling bins within reach of all my co-workers and help sort out their materials. I am hoping it will help save us money as well because then the garbage collectors won’t have to dump our dumpster as often.
My spring cleaning has gone green–I’m making rags out of old clothes and using natural cleaners. As a way to de-clutter I am donating or giving away things that can be reused.
I have vowed to remember my reusable shopping bags. I had kept forgetting them and now I make it a habit to keep at least one in my car at all times. I have gotten rid of all paper plates/cups in my home and use regular dishes making sure that I have a full load before washing and I am also recycling more. Since I have to take my recycling across town I have been trying to accumulate as much as I can and will only take it if I am “heading” that direction anyway (to save on gas). It is not much but this all has come about in a 1 year time period and now it is a habit.
Good luck!
I do this every day, regardless of the month:
hang the laundry (weather permitting)
make my lunch
take the bus
walk for errands
buy local
buy organic
buy fair trade
conserve electricity and water
canvas grocery bags
no bottled water
no Styrofoam take out meals
eat in dinner from basic ingredients (nothing pre-packaged)
primarily vegetarian
use vegetable based soaps and cleaning products
chop wood from dead trees found in our backyard (well my husband does the chopping - I gather kindling)
use fireplace
no dishwasher (and I don’t mind!)
I use canvas grocery bags and recycle cans and bottles. I’m also reusing the plastic grocery bags that I’ve been saving up for packing.
I walk or take public transportation whenever possible. I recycle, use canvas grocery bags, use a refillable steel water bottle instead of buying plastic bottles, and use my Slanket to keep warm instead of turning up the heat. I try to choose local ingredients, grass-fed beef, and organic items as often as possible.
I do this all year long:
I buy all of our vegetables, meat and dairy from our local farmer. It’s the best farm around.
I recycle as much as possible.
I only use green cleaning products.
The household tries to walk to as many places as possible.
All the dog toys are made from recycled material and their food is made with organic ingredients.
I bought a motorcycle to save gas and ride to work and everywhere with it. I recycle at home and at work. I put in a programable thermostat in my house. i use cloth bags at the grocery store.I try to inform others around me how to do the same.
I finally bought a reusable water bottle & have stopped buying plastic water bottles. I am going to start using my canvas bags at the grocery store, finally. I buy organic & free trade & local whenever possible. I take my recycling to a drop-off center since Chicago has a terrible recycling program. As soon as it gets warm I’m going to have my bicycle serviced & start riding that wherever possible instead of driving. Oh, and I have to replace some lights in my apartment so I’m changing them to fluorescents.
I’ve been recycling anything and everything I can… starting a composting area in my garden and I purchase a bunch of adorable reusable shopping bags to do all of my shopping so I’ll be using plastic or paper bags less and less. Every little bit helps!!! =)
All the easter cards i sent this year were made out of recycled material. They also included butterflys made out of compressed recycled paper embedded with wildflower seeds to plant. We use canvas shopping bags. i use all natural cleaning products for our home and bodys. We walk whenever possible. I try to buy organic cotton clothing when possible. We use organic food and litter for all our pets.Eat organically when possible.Have switched all our light bulbs to energy saving ones. Use natural pests in the garden instead of chemicals.Shop at the farmer’s market.Wash our clothes in cold water and use environmentally safe detergent. Utilize the fans and windows instead of a/c or heat …..and try to share with the people around us what we do.
For earth month doing the following-
* Separating and Recycling trash & Batteries
* Using my car as less as Possible(Can’t wait for the new Metro lines in Austin,Tx)
* Using products save for our planet- includes food, beauty etc
* Talking to friends and family and spreading the word about products save for our environment.
* Eating home cooked food.
* Following Reduce Reuse Recycle in whatever i do.
These are a few things we follow. Lot more to come, not only this month but throughout the year and more.
I am…
~cutting down my water usage
~recycling (I work at a high school and my students collect the cans around the campus and earn money for doing it)
~cutting down my driving
~using reusable bags and we reuse plastic bags
~turning off lights when I don’t need them on
I recycle everything and anything I can. I also stopped using paper and plastic products around the house. Not only do I save money but I help Mother Earth!
I’ve started turning off the water when I brush my teeth and wash my face. I’m going to start doing it in the shower also. No need to keep the water running when you are sudsing up, right? I use my recycled-once a plastic bottle grocery bags when I go to the store and I always pass on a bag for one or 2 items, I just pop them in my purse. I’m more careful about recycling my plastic, aluminum and paper. I want to start a compost pile but my neighbors might object. I consolidate my trips and errand running to just one day and I always fill up on good air quality days. I’ve always turned off lights in rooms I’m not in. I’ve planted a garden and intend to eat as much out of it as possible and want to buy organic when possible. I love farmer’s markets!
I’m trying to recycle everything I can, use less water and electricity, use cloth bags for shopping, and drive less.
I do a few different things, I walk everywhere I can and when I can’t I take public transportation. I try and support local produce growers which cuts down on trucking other produce in from all over, I use canvas bags when I go shopping, All of the lights in our house are energy efficient, turn off the lights when I’m not in a room, recycle my plastics, aluminum and paper products, I use eco friendly products to clean and for beauty and I use a reusable water bottle.
My students are submitting a Peace and earth essay on how they can make the earth a safer and more peaceful place, while also taking care of the world we live in. 104 students = 104 different ideas!
I have been doing the following, but for Earth month, I will encourage people around me do do more with me.
- Use ceramic coffee cup instead of disposable cups in office
- Recycle papers in office
- Commute by mass transit (subway/bus)
- Bring my eco-bags to grocery shopping (also carry one in my purse for general shopping)
- Recycle everything possible and/or donate to charity
- Try to reduce waste/garbage
- Turn off lights when not in use
- Purchase eco-friendly/cruelty-free household/personal care products
- No bottled water at home or in restaurants
- Try to buy organic, local and fair trade as much as possible
- Exchange eco-friendly ideas and tips among friends
- I also do “click donation” for environmental and wildlife causes as well as sign online petitions for worthy causes. It is great to see some positive result!
I’ve ben using reusable grocery bags for shopping. I’m working on growing my own herb garden. I’ve started using Origins products and I love them. Anything to help.
I recycle everything that is allowable & have taught my 3 stepkids & husband what can & can’t be recycled. I’ve also watched these kids when I first met them leave all kinds of lights on in their previous house, & I would have to turn them off all the time, to now watching them turn off lights when they’re not in use (usually without being told now), & they’ve stopped keeping bright night lights on & we use the kind that automatically turns off in daylight. There are many other things we do as a family to try & be as green in our own backyard as we can.
I am using recyclable bags for shopping and having exchange parties with friends!
For Earth Month I’ll keep doing what I have been doing for years.
1. Use cloth shopping bags for shopping
2. Recycle as much as I can. (My condo building just expanded the recycling program to single stream recycling on April 1st. Yea!)
3. Use public transportation.
4. Continue using Orgins products!
In addition, I’m trying to buy as little processed or already-prepared food so that I eat more healthful meals, save money on takeout or eating out, and reduce the amount of packaging that I have to recycle or throw away if it’s note recyclable.
all year long — buy local, compost kitchen waste, recycle everything, walk everywhere, use cloth bags for shopping, don’t buy bottled water, give lightly used clothing to charity, wash & reuse ziplock bags, leave laptop, cellphone & toothbrush chargers unplugged unless I’m using them. The only thing I can’t bring myself to do is use compact florescent lightbulbs! I guess feeling guilty about that doesn’t really help the environment, either.
Between composting and recycling, our household of 4 (adults) puts out less than one-half of a standard 33 gal. garbage bag per week. We also:
- have used recyclable shopping bags for over 10 years
- grow our own herbs
- joined a CSA farm
- make my own household cleaning products, lip balm, etc.
- hang or line dry most laundry
- use organic fertilizers and natural pest control
My husband and I teach our two year old daughter, Camille, about living responsibly in many ways. Weekly, she learns to sort recyclables, carry out the compost to our compost pile, use both sides of her paper for artwork, read books from the library, enrich her body and mind through yoga, choose organic foods and keep her body healthy by eating a variety of whole foods. We learn much more in teaching her than we would on our own. I use beauty products on myself and my daughter that are organic or mostly organic. Our daughter is already a positive influence on the world around her- and is a joy in our home! Kristin Crowder
I am recycling everything I can as well as using canvas bags daily.
I am teaching my Pre=K students about Earth Day. I checked out many kid-friendly earth day books from the Library. We will make an earth day project, sing songs, and learn about how to keep the Earth clean and healthy.
I love Origins products1

I’ve been trying to make the world a better place for years! First of all, I am a vegetarian (as is my hubby and 2 year old son). We also recycle everything we can (cans, bottles, plastic containers, cardboard, paper). I am a fanatic about writing on both sides of paper before recycling it. We participate in the 2 times a year recycling programs in our community for stuff like computer hardware and electronics, and then for hazardous materials, like paint. We have a rain barrel outside that helps us water plants. We turn off the water when we brush our teeth. We take our own bags when we go shopping (IKEA makes a great heavy-duty one!). We take a bag with us on our nightly walks and pick up trash along the trails. We use compact fluorescent bulbs everywhere. We use cloth napkins instead of paper ones. The newest thing I have started doing is reusing small plastic bags (like sandwich bags).
I already am reading to my 3 week old daughter about ways to make our world a better and healthier place. We use canvas bags everywhere too. Our recycling bin is always more full then our trash can.
I started to use a kitchen rag instead of papertowels. I know wash it at the end of the day, instead of a roll in the kitchen a day!
I started to use a kitchen rag instead of papertowels. I now wash it at the end of the day, instead of a roll in the kitchen a day!
I:
Recycle everything that my local center accepts
Use earth friendly and green products
Car pool and combine shopping trips
Garden
Compost
Use canvas bags to shop
Buy organic
Support local producers
Changed all the lightbulbs in my house to energy efficient bulbs
Buy items with minimal packaging and that I can recycle
Use cold water for my laundry
I’ve been signing up for “e-statements” from my bank, credit card company, 401(k) provider, etc. to cut down on unnecessary paper… in addition to my ongoing “green” activities like recycling, using resuable shopping bags, commuting via public transportation, etc. Also, I’m trying to eat more locally grown/produced food and organic food — healthier for me and better for the environment.
e-statements
canvas shopping bags
recycle plastic bags by giving to Thrift stores to reuse
composting
gardening/canning
hang towels outside to dry, weather permitting
use envelopes that come in the mail for shopping lists or TO DO lists
purchase local produce when in season
shop and eat at local businesses when possible instead of chains
I have given up plastic bags and bottles! I bought all reusable bags for any shopping I do and bought a reusable metal water bottle for drinking. I will make a difference!
I am walking and limiting my water usage.
I’ve always recycled, turned off lights and water when not needed, and we’re also working on reducing phantom power in our house as well. Now that the seasons have changed, we’ll be using the sun’s light only until 7 PM to save energy and money. I wash clothing in cold water, with the exception of whites. Although we can’t have a clothes line here, I’ll hang towels in the bathroom, and put sheets & comforters on the deck on sunny days, instead of using my dryer. I’ve moved my family towards a “grow it or catch it” style diet, where they’re eating mostly vegetables, fruits, meats, and fish, without preservatives and added sugars or salt. Our garden’s been planted, and our rain barrel’s out for the year too.
To be green I use reusable canvas bags for shopping. I also recycle and reuse items as much as possible. I try to buy used products rather than new for everything from clothing to books or games.
I have begun recycling everything. I have been using reusable bags for grocery shopping, Target runs, etc. for a little while now. When I clean out my closet, I donate all of the items I decide to get rid of instead of trashing them. When I clean out my refrigerator, I take the food to the racoons in my apartment complex–it’s fun to see how excited they get and if you are quiet and wait long enough you get to see them eat. I’ve taken item to B2M for a while now…including other brands even though I get nothing in return other than satisfaction! Just these simple things make me feel like I am doing some good!
As I live on the coast, I’m very aware of taking care of the oceans. We make it a point to teach our children about protecting our beaches, ocean and wildlife. We talk about protecting the sea turtles, dolphins and safe fishing/shrimping. We pick up trash on the beach (which, thankfully, is not plentiful). I hope to instill the values of caring for the environment in my kids.
[...] Don’t forget about our ORIGINS ORGANICS giveaway which is still going on till [...]
I try to carpool when possible, use my refillable water bottle, use energy efficient light bulbs, and appliances!.
I try to carpool when possible, use my refillable water bottle, utilize cloth shopping bags, use energy efficient light bulbs, and appliances!.
I carpool to work when I can, I utilize reusuable bags, recycling everything and minimize the usage of water and electricity
I recycle absolutely everything I can including biodegradable objects outside. I teach my kids the importance of taking care of the earth, and I hope that they will help the earth in the future as well. I never litter or throw trash out of my car, even though we see it happen every day here. We try and limit usage of utilities, by turning off everything when not in use. I walk if I’m going somewhere close by, instead of driving my car. I use recyclable grocery bags when I go shopping, I have the same bags I use every time, and sometimes they even give me a discount at the store!
I don’t drive. Ever! I take public transportation or walk.
and I Recycle recycle recycle.
Earth Month is 12 months a year! Recycling paper, plastic, glass, cardboard; walking; using canvas tote “give-aways” for shopping bags; never buying/using plastic or styrofoam; planting flowers and trees; eco-friendly products (like Origins!); green household cleaners; green laundry products; and anything else I can do to live gently for our Mother Earth!
I use reusable grocery bags, CFLs, recycle, turn off lights when not in the room, even turn them off when I AM in the room (use ambient light), carpool when available.
I’ve bought more reusable grocery bags to stock in my car and my husband’s so we’re prepared everytime we go out to buy groceries. I have to remind my husband pretty regularly and now he’s got NO EXCUSES! I also make it a point to educate my kids about taking care of the Earth every chance we get. Less waste, eating healthy, recycling, driving economically, carpooling, etc.
My family and I are big believers in Organic and LOCAL food! We use re-usable shopping bags, recycle, all cleaning products (unless using vinegar) are Seventh Generation, I use eco-cert make-up, and just bought Eco-Tools brand brushes. Teach my kids to treat the earth kindly…we reuse whatever looks fun in the recycle bin that day for craft projects, use as little energy as little energy as possible, and we make an EFFORT in our everyday lives to be good to our mother earth!
I am going to get serious about my compost pile this month.
I am “teaching” my 17 month old son about recycling. He loves to throw things in the trash and I am trying to get him to put things in the right bin. Obviously this isn’t something he gets right all the time but when I tell him where to put something he does it. I also started using canvas bags when grocery shopping. I was amazed at how much they could hold. I am also taking the bus to and from work. We only have one car and instead of my husband driving me to work then to daycare and to his job we have cut out a lot of the driving by me taking the bus.
-i recycle like crazy, every little scrap of paper gets put into the recycling bin.
-i also take “navy showers” to conserve water.
-i try to use my car as little as possible, i used to bike everywhere, but since my commute time has increased i’m not able to bike or ride the bus- but i do plan my days so that i use the car as few times as possible.
-i always bring my own bags when i go shopping
-i buy organics and sustainably made products, also products with as little packaging as possible or ones that are biodegradable!
I keep buying canvas bags for grocery shopping and forgetting them at home…so I buy more. We also started about 6 months ago, separating our recycling. WE don’t have a recycling program where I live so we drive it over to a recycling center by the carload. I wish it was in walking distance.
I am starting my largest organic garden that I have had to date, and giving away as many starts as I can to friends and co-workers. Also continuing to take my canvas bags to the grocery and support business that are environmentally conscious.
We recycle paper, plastic and all cans.
We compost all kitchen fruit/veg waste, coffee grounds, tea leaves, etc.
I started my garden plants indoors for planting outdoors in our organic garden.
I buy organic whenever possible.
My clothes dryer is rarely used as I plan my laundry according to the weather.
Lights are always turned off in rooms that are not occupied.
I am frugally earth-friendly!
I’m also saving all of those Origins containers for recycling the next time I am at the Origins counter at my local Macy’s!
I work for a major airline, and I hate that so much is wasted or thrown out, so I do what I can to help on the plane. I recycle as much soda cans and aluminum foil and cooking pans as I can. As gross as this is, I try to empty out as many plastic serving dishes as possible after getting them back from passengers, so I can have them recycled with the plastic water bottles.
Also, I try to always have a reusable shopping bag whenever I go shopping. The few plastic bags that I do get from stores are used for trash bags in my trash can instead of using ones that I have to buy from the stores.
I am making a difference by recycling, using natural cleaning solutions instead of chemicals. I use organic lotion, and organic soaps. I use grocery bags that I can use over and over again. I switched hairsprays to go with one that didn’t deplete the ozone layer. I try to help in any way I can, and that includes using flourescent bulbs throughout our home, and powering off the computers when they are not in use. We don’t do laundry every day (saving the water), it’s more like once a week or until we have full loads to do. It may not sound like a lot, and I am sure there is more we’re doing that isn’t crossing my mind now….oh, but we use a soap that comes in a carton, and after you use the soap, you can bury the cartoon and a tree will grow. We also only use meat that was slaughtered in a humane way on the nights that we eat meet. It’s a start and we try to do more each day! Oh, and I LOVE Origins products!
My boys and I are planting our own vegetable & herb gardens…They love the idea of starting their own food from a tiny little seed.
Plus, they sneak into my room at every occasion and dip in to my Origin products because they “feel so much better on our skin than the other lotions do!” Not fair!
Using reusable grocery bags everywhere I shop, recycling everything I can, and trying my hand at a vegetable garden this year.
I’m keeping the lights off all day, and letting the breeze be the natural air conditioner.
I wash all my clothes in cold water
I recycle everything that I can, I wash all of our clothes in cold water. All light bulbs are switched to energy efficent and always bring resusable bags where ever I shop. Good ideas I have gotten from the other posts, I want to do my part!!
I turn off all the lights in our house and water when not in use. I have recently adopted using earth friendly shopping bags where ever I go. We have recycling bins in the house and I am teaching my daughter about the importance of recycling.
I have spent the month educating my two beautiful daughters (3 and 5 years old) about being conservative in using water and electricity. We are shopping locally and reading labels to buy the best things for our earth, house and bodies.
I recycle all my plactics, paper, bottles, cans, food scraps, and compost. I even sometimes use my leftover food scraps to make broths, use the flowers in the garden to make popurie, buy locally grown food, and at my son’s preschool they recycle and make sure that the kids all have resusable containers for their lunches. We dont use most of the lights in the house durring the day and always set our thermostat to 60. I love the earth and want to keep it clean so that future generations can have a place to live. Even though it will be a long long time before the earth runs out of recourses.
I walk wherever I can or I take public transport, I use minimal paper, and I make sure the products I use are organic, and I recycle.
One step at a time….the world is becoming a better place.
